About Me

My name is Shaheen Hagar. I was born in Germany in 1985, to a white German mother, and a Black American father. One of five siblings, one of over 25 first cousins, an aunty to nine nieces and nephews. I am Ruby Nell’s and Erna’s grandchild.

While the majority of my family stays in the United States, I repatriated from Germany to Gambia, in 2023, to stay with another part of my family. This change marked a personal and professional rebirth.

I am dedicated to (self-)leadership fostering strong, authentic relationships that drive transformation in individuals and organizations.

As a Certified Business Coach and Consultant, my mission is anchored in facilitating behavioral change and management. With expertise in anti-discrimination and a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, the trainings and workshops I lead aim to empower individuals and foster inclusive environments within organizations.

With a deep belief that our connections and relationships are our most valuable assets, I help leaders develop meaningful connections with themselves, their teams, and their stakeholders.

Leadership, in the 21st century, is about building organizations that are resilient, diverse, and capable of innovating in the face of global challenges like climate change and the death agony of capitalism.

The challenge for leaders today is to righten civilization, to literally re-invent society from the ground up.

Leader as Healer: A new paradigm for 21st-century leadership

Today’s leaders must be people who seek opportunities for genuine inner development, for themselves and those they lead.

They are able and willing to create cultures of real engagement, in which people experience the deep satisfaction that comes with seeking to contribute more than to take.

“Shaheen has a unique ability to both connect with people and connect people. Her openness to other ways of thinking, doing and being, coupled with patient listening and meaningful supportive commentary, as well as willingness to help, makes her a valuable person to have on any project desiring to bring people together and share knowledge and resources across spaces, languages and cultures.”

“Her structuring, analytical, determined and open approach and her adept background research of community-related topics in direct contact with the community, in addition to writing, editing and proofreading creative and attractive content for Facebook and Instagram, contributed significantly to the success of the project.”
